Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade

Of all the makeup products I have bought this year this is by far my favourite. Long gone are the days of me using a Rimmel eyebrow pencil this product from Anastasia Beverly Hills is worth the investment.

The formula is a gel which you paint onto your eyebrows to accentuate the shape, it may seem a little tricky at first but practice definitely makes perfect. The formula is so creamy it glides on and gives a lovely natural look. My eyebrows are naturally quite gappy and sparse but this fills them in and lasts all day.

I would also recommend you purchase the #12 brush aswell as you can firstly use the spooly end to comb through and shape then the soft brush helps the product work it's magic, the spooly end will also help you blend the product through the front end of the brow to give a softer effect :)

I bought mine from CultBeauty.com for £15.

Revlon Berry Couture Lipstick

Searching for a winter/berry shade lipstick is something I find extremely difficuly as I am attracted to barbie pink colours far too easily. Whilst on my search for the perfect winter lip colour I decided to try Revlon for a change having only ever owned their lip butters, and also as they are one of my favourite high street brands for good quality makeup.
This lipstick is from the super lustrous lipstick range meaning it's silky, smooth & moisturising for your lips - Something which is important in the colder months. The colour on me is a 'your lips but better' shade and feels soft all day. It's not very long wearing but for under £8 it does it's job! I wasn't expecting the formula to be so moisturising either so I think I'll be trying to pick up a few more shades for the coming winter.

The Lipstick Tag

I've seen this tag post on a couple of blogs I've been reading recently and thought it would be a good one to start off with as buying a new lipstick is one of my favourite things to do!

How many lipsticks do you own?
I currently have 16, but over the years...countless! I used to have an obsession when I was about 13 of collecting all the Boots natural collection lipsticks and barry m ones, but I threw them out years ago and prefer collecting high end ones now :)

What was your first ever lipstick?
Barry M 101 Marshmallow....This was the most horrible 'nude' lipstick ever, it was when the really popular trend of foundation/white lips was around and I thought I looked really cool wearing it to school....I didn't.

What is your favourite brand for lipstick?
MAC by far, the colour range is incredible and I love how there is a finish for everyone!

What is your most worn lipstick?
It used to be Hue by MAC for about 3 years but since losing one I bought in America two years ago I haven't repurchased since (This has just reminded me!) but it's now either Creme Cup or Lingerie Pink by YSL

What is your favourite finish?
I like a glossy finish

My Current Favourites

What was the last lipstick you bought?
Revlon Berry Couture!

How many lip products do you currently have in your bag? (including glosses and balms)
Carmex tin, Nivea Honey & Milk, Nivea Pearly Shine, MAC Myth & YSL Lingerie Pink (I DO NOT need that many lip balms)

What lipstick do your use to rock a red lip?
I don't tend to like wearing red shades too much so I only own one.. Lady Danger by MAC is lovely as it matches my pale skin quite well!

How do you store your lipsticks?
I have a stand from ebay, but most are in the bottom of handbags...

What lip products are you currently lusting after?
MAC Velvet Teddy, Honey Love, Heroine & As they are discontinuing the YSL Rouge Volupte I want to get my hands on as many as I can just for the fact the packaging is incredible :)

Barry M Gelly Nail Polish

Anyone who knows me know hows I like to have a little bit of colour on my nails, I feel naked without anything on them! In my collection the most popular colour by far has to be pink and recently I had started to run out of my favourite Rimmel 60 second baby pink shade.

In a nail polish I look for something long wearing and quick drying and although Barry M have the best colour range on the high street the drying time is horrible - I always end up knocking my nails on something two hours after and having to repaint them!

Looking in Superdrug the other week I noticed they had added a huge range of colour to the Gelly range and picked up a few shades to try......
I have to say they do not dissapoint! The photo below is after (almost) one whole week of wear this is after a party, days at college, and a few shifts at work (which can get quite hands on when your dealing with hangers or fiddly bits on underwear!) and I'm shocked at how there is hardly any wear after just two coats.

For such a reasonable price these are definateley going to be something I'd like to buy more of!

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo

My skin is far from perfect, I think the last few years of wearing makeup everyday and probably not doing the best job of cleaning it (definitely used to fall asleep in it all the time..oops) has not been the best idea but now I'm fully focused on skincare and can't sleep with an inch of it on me!

Whilst getting more interested in skincare I realised that instead of just cleanse, toning and moisturising I wanted a product that I could use a barrier before I put on makeup to protect my skin and help clear it at the same time and this little tube from La Roche Posay does just that.

I bought it after my sister recommending it to me, I think she had seen a few beauty vloggers mentioned it and am really glad I did! I haven't used a product like this before, it's not a cleanser it's leave on formula that sinks into your skin and leaves it really smooth so it also can act as a primer.

I really do see a difference in the amount of problem skin I have when I don't use this for a few days, I find it works best if you apply it twice a day - Once before you apply makeup and then after cleansing and toning before you go to bed. Another thing about the formula is that it isn't drying at all and doesn't leave your skin feeling tight.

The only thing I would say is the smell isn't much like roses....it is a clean/fresh smell but then I'd rather it be packed full of ingredients that work than fragranced perfumes.
Overall a product I couldn't live without and will be repurchasing for sure!

Wishlist

Thought I'd start with another simple post as I haven't got the hang of taking photos in low winter light! These are a few products I've been wanting for a while now so hopefully once all the Christmas present shopping is done I might be making some new purchases :)
Firstly I have the Beauty Blender, this is the pack of two which comes with a cleaner - I've been a long time user of the Cosmopolitan version of this but a couple of weeks ago mine decided it had enough so I searched for ages and found they had stopped making it all together so I purchased the Real Techniques version which just isn't the same effect so hopefully the real deal Beauty Blender is something that needs to be invested in!
Next up is a Pigment set from the Christmas MAC collection, never have I regretted purchasing something more as I was so close to doing so last night ..and now it's sold out! Saying that I have an obsession with super glittery eyes at the moment and the mini pigments here are such good value for money in this little set.
I've seen so many good reviews on the Dior Star foundation and having never tried anything from the brand before I think it would be a good place to start :) Aaaand lastly another item from MAC a nude/pink lipstick which I most definitely have enough of but maybe when I eventually finish one I can justify it a bit more!

My Favourite MAC Products

This is my first blog post so thought I would start with something simple :) These are my top products I own from MAC. I started buying from them about 4 or 5 years ago now and have built up a bit of a collection ever since, these are the products I couldn't live without!

Fix+
The newest addition my collection I love this for spraying on after applying all my makeup to help in all settle into the skin instead of it sitting on top. I also use it to spray on my beauty blenders and apply loose pigments.

Studio Finish Concealer
I love heavy concealers as at the end of the day you want a concentrated formula to hide a much smaller area than a foundation would and this one is perfect and lasts all day! The creamy texture makes it glide on and it's perfect for oily/combo skin if you have drier areas I would recommend you mix it with some fix+ or only use it for your under eye area but it's definitely my all time favourite.

Studio Fix Fluid Foundation
Probably the most well known MAC product had my first bottle of this years ago and I'm always running out and restocking. I don't like using it for everyday as it's extremely heavy but for a night out it will stay on all evening without a smudge! Perfect paired with a setting powder such as a mineralize skinfinish or Rimmel stay matte!

Prep & Prime Highligher in Light Boost
This is lovely as a under eye highlight or the rest of the face as it's not pearly or shimmery it's completely matte and the colour suits paler skintones so well!
